Summer is slowly sneaking in, which means it’s time to make sure I have the right pair of sneakers. I was massively impressed with Superbalist’s 632 offerings, including of course, all the legendary Nike Sneakers and Adidas Originals Sneakers.
Jared’s Top 5
1. Adidas NMD_R2 Primeknit
Nike brought out their Roshe range in 2012 which were an overnight success, and Adidas also stole hearts in the market with the 2015 NMD (nomad) range. I’ve increasingly spotted these around, and getting over my initial hesitancy, I’m now convinced that this pair with red silhouette would be a perfect choice.
2. New Balance MRL247LB
These sneakers are a statement, or rather, to me they come across as a conversation. An elegant blend of materials and colour that I want to wear! It’s the perfect balance of knit, suade and leather. The penultimate in athleisure.
3. Vans Old Skool
Why not join the skaters and get a pair of Vans sporting their iconic side-stripe? I particularly love them for their reasonable price. A slick and stylish summer option that suits the budget.
4. Nike Classic Cortez Leather ‘Alternate’
45 years later and the Cortez is still an icon through and through. Not only did it help fuel Nike’s popularity, but was a useful favourite of many athletes, but also a certain Forest Gump! This leather version is a classic and makes my top 5.
5. Nike Air Presto ESS
For my final choice, I had to call a friend. Keegan is a sports fanatic, and more importantly as a soccer coach, spends a good deal of his time in sneakers. I asked him what his top choice was. His response was definitely the Nike Air Prento: the most comfortable shoes he’s ever owned, adding that the shoe is perfectly able to combine street-cred and athleticism for the perfect urban look.
Don’t forget, that if you’re a first-time buyer on the Superbalist app, you get an impressive R250 off your purchase (download for iOS and Android here).
